Dear Senator Saltonstall:

What a great treat it was to see you. I want to thank
you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to
come by the press conference. I know it meant a great
deal to John Sears, and on a very personal basis it meant
an awful lot to me. I have conveyed your warm regards to
my mother, who felt just great to hear first-hand about
you. I had a good visit with Bill Saltonstall at lunch--
an extra dividend.

Even though I was on the periphery, I take special pleasure
still in knowing of my father's great warmth and affection
and friendship for you.

Warmest personal regards,
George
